We bought Project Russell in early 2012. Why it got nicknamed "Project Russell" is another story, but this blog is to act as a record of the changes it has been through and is yet to go through.
Project Russell is a Victorian end terraced property located in the East Midlands. It has been subjected to 100+ years of bodge jobs, and we are slowly trying to un-bodge it all.
When we first came to look round it, we could see it needed work. Full of confidence, and against my father's better judgement, we went for it anyway. Working on the basis that you can change the house, but you cant change the location - the location is amazing. Its in the better part of town, next to a park, in its own little cul-de-sac.
We were possibly a little over-confident as to our own abilities. With a property developer and kitchen and bathroom designer on either side of the family, we thought we'd just be able to move in and square it right up... yeah right! I hope this blog helps any other novices at DIY, because at the moment I am learning as I go!
